3 Weeks Pregnant:

You’re pregnant. Congratulations.  What’s happening in week there of your pregnancy? This is the most important week as you conceive. 

By the end of the week you’ll be able to take a test exam to find a positive result in the pregnant test. If you suspect pregnancy make sure to visit your doctor.

Changes In Your Body During 3 Weeks Pregnant

Your body is awash with hormones causing all sorts of havocs inside.  The body will not have any physical change in the body but you’ll notice yourself having mood swings. 

The body now is producing high levels of estrogen and progesterone. These hormones are responsible for all the changes your body will undertake in the nine months during the pregnancy.

Development Of Your Baby During Week 3 Pregnancy

Out of 300 million sperm a single sperm has travelled down the fallopian tube to get fertilized.  It will attached itself to the lining of the womb and continues to grow in the next nine months. 

 Even thought you’ll not no the sex of the baby yet it has already been determined. The fertilized egg contains 46 chromosomes.  The egg receives 23 chromosomes from the mom and 23 from the dad.

Signs And Symptoms At
Pregnancy Week 3

Here are the most common signs and symptoms of pregnancy during week 3:

  • Headaches
  • Decreased vaginal discharge
  • Lower abdominal cramping
  • Increase in body temperature
  • Spotting or bleeding during implantation

Test And Exams For
Pregnancy Week 3

A pregnancy test will reveal you’re pregnant due to the high increase of hCG levels found in the urine.  In week 3, you can take a home pregnancy test to determine if you’re pregnant.

The doctor might perform a blood test.  No ultrasound is done yet since the baby is too small to be detectable.

Tips For A Healthy Pregnancy

Here are some basic tips to follow for a healthy pregnancy:

  • Don’t smoke
  • Don’t drink
  • Get plenty of rest
  • Don’t drink any alcohol
  • Make sure to take your prenatal vitamins
  • Make healthier choices in food
