Physical Development

Let’s take a look at different growth details of your baby growth details.

How much should a 9-month-old weigh?  A baby boy should weigh anywhere between 15 to 24 pounds.  The girls should weigh between 14 to 22 pounds.

What should the height of a 9-month-old be? The height of a baby boy should be 26 to 30 inches and girls 25 to 29 inches.

What should be the head size?  The boy’s head should be 16 to 18 inches and girl 16 to 18 inches.

What is respiratory rate of a 9-month-old?  Both girls and boys should have 25 to 40 breaths per minute.

What is the heart rate of a 9-month-old?  Both girls and boys should have a heart rate of 80 to 120 beats per minute.

What Should Your Baby Be Doing At 9 Months?

Motor Development

During at 9 month old the baby now has mastered crawling.  Some babies might not be crawling yet but it’s quite normal.  

The baby now is beginning to show signs of walking when assisted.  The baby is also learning to sit after standing.

Communicative Development

At 9 months, your baby is having a growth spurt in his brain. He is now developing his memorizing skills.  The baby now makes funny sounds to try to get your attention.  Majority of babies at 9 month learn to wave and clap this month. 

 The baby now is more anxious when meeting new people.  The baby might start getting separation anxiety.  

Majority of babies go through separation anxiety constantly wanting to be held, crying, or being clingy when they are placed down.

Sensory Development

The baby now is able to view small objects.   The baby’s vision, eyes and auditory skills keep improving. The baby is able to communicate a lot better by making sounds or pointing at things they might want.

What Should Be The Feeding Schedule For A 9-Month-Old Baby?

What food can a 9-month-old baby eat?

At 9 months old, the baby should now the first teeth.  During this stage, the baby continues to eat mashed vegetables and variety of fruits.  Majority of mom’s start introducing finger foods.

How Much Milk Should A 9-Month-Old Drink?

The baby should consume around 600ml of formula milk. If the baby is getting breastfed before given any solid food.  At nine months you should not be giving your baby regular milk. 

What Is The Sleep Schedule of A 9-Month-Old Baby?

Majority of nine month old babies sleep for an average of 14 hours a day.  The babies will also take 2 hours of naps through out the day.  He might wake in the middle of the night a few times.
